self discovery & expression

From Voice Council

Cleaning the mic is essential now and then. After all, who likes singing into
something that has been spat on –or worse. This is why the top of most
live mics can be screwed off. In fact, the foam bit on the inside of a
58 (like many mics) comes out easily so you can remove bits of food,
smudge buildup etc. Soak the 2 separated pieces in dish soap for a bit and
then let them air dry. Don’t worry, unless you’re completely ham-handed
you’re not going to hurt the mic with the windscreen off! Just keep
sharp things away from the bubble part in the middle.
